UK GHG emissions have been falling since 1980. even Maggie Thatcher had better awareness of the need to reduce carbon gas emissions and so she pushed nuclear as low emissions electricity production.

we however have been saddled with people in charge who decided to ignore warnings of GHGs and GW and chose to stick with coal..... coz it was cheaper. in Aus businesses started to reduce emissions before 2005, before govt decided to act.
