Fortunately, it was only around a week and a half ago, that I and one of my 6 sisters visited her at her home, not far down the road from where I live and we were there for around 3 -4hrs.
A nice warm spring day under her patio and despite the several months of her being knocked around with all the standard treatment, it was like being with the person we've always known.
She was handling it very well, and still on the ball, talking etc.
So in that regards, it has left me with a good lasting memory, as it was only a few days later, that she took a serious turn for the worst, back into hospital as there had been a rapid increase to the brain, and visitors limited to only her immediate family.
I was with my mother for her last 3 hrs, and those memories never leave you, so the above was, sort of a blessing in disguise.
Being one of 8, - 6 are 70 and above, me 69, so the circle is closing, touch wood, so far in my life, Doc's have been a very rare occasion for me.
My mother would have been 100 today.
