It is a weird kind of week in the precious metals space. Lot's of mixed signals. Gold up strongly early in the week. You would think this is a breakout on the pennant. Yet it is relatively sideways since then.
After Tuesdays action the miners pretty much caught a beating, including GMD.
Here is another head spinner... GDXJ looks to end the week up while GDX is down. Suddenly the markets preference are the more risky junior miners. I don't think so. This gold run is driven by safe haven buying not risk-on consideration.
The silver lining this week, is Silver. After Thursdays Silver breakout. It now leads the charge. Historically, It is not a gold/precious metals bull-run without silver leading the charge. In a way the signals are lining up that we are not in the late stages of this gold/precious metals bull run.
Plenty of legs here so don't FOMO. Buy the dips. Slow and steady is key. Plenty of traders caught a beating after the exuberance early in the week and are selling. Let them. Don't fight the tape. A gap like that is literally the very definition of exuberance.
GMD will form a higher low sooner than you think and on to the next higher high.
