The public hospital system already has significant waiting lists for elective surgeries.
The health system & the public needs the Healthscope hospitals to remain open even if they don't have private health insurance.
There's no doubt that the private health system needs some sort of intervention or regulation.
Perhaps an independent regulated funding system based upon fixed funding per treatment etc?
