Once we cross the Rubicon of taxing unrealised gains, our problems will never end.
There will come a time when we will get a letter from the Tax department, each year, perhaps saying, 'your house was revalued upwards by $100,000 this year, so send us $25,000..'
This is not just a 'normal' super fund, legal adjustment, this is a gateway to Hell.. !
Unsurprisingly, taxing unrealised gains, has also been the dreams of the debt bankers, for maybe centuries!
