Macquarie's view
"QBE (QBE, $18.45, Outperform, Target price: $22.01) - will have an exposure; however, much of the NZ commercial book is liability classes (they have virtually no retail exposure) and the property book is very well reinsured. The net loss will likely be minor in terms of QBE's global earnings (which includes an allowance of US$1.5bn for large loss and catastrophe claims). We will discuss QBE's recently announced worldwide reinsurance arrangements in a future note.
