Yep this is bad for Aus BNPL. There is literally no difference now. May as well apply for a credit card I say.
It will be tough for part time workers and 18 year old plus students to get credit now. Imagine getting rejected by a BNPL company lol
I see a rise in credit card use in the years to come. Afterpay Molnar is absolutely kidding himself acting like this is great news. If I were a student wanting credit now, I would just go for a CC. The best thing about BNPL was how easy it was before today.
After today, the party for AUS BNPL is over now. We're really just another credit card now. But not as legit as a CC, yet you have to jump through the same hoops to get Aus BNPL
Zip USA better keep performing. Wish we would just ditch Aus Zip. Too much trouble with these new laws, potential new RBA merchant fee laws, and the FirstMac trademark infringement. Just sell Zip Australia and be done with it
