    What our government does here is totally irrelevant. In 2008 there was no "official" recession in Australia right? Yet property and stocks both still crashed. Why? Because we follow the US if they crash not only do we crash but the entire global economy does.

    And lets be fair we rely on the global economy more than most, fair to say? And since our economy is so reliant on commodities you could say we are the most vulnerable to downturns, hence we will be hit the hardest? We are strong in good times but much weaker in bad.

    P.S. And no exaggeration but the US is imploding before our eyes which won't end well for us .
