Medical sources in Gaza reported on Monday that seven Palestinians were killed by gunfire near a humanitarian aid distribution point west of Rafah, in the southern Strip.
According to eyewitnesses, armed men guarding the aid convoy opened fire on Gaza civilians who were waiting to receive food packages. The sources added that 20 Palestinians were also killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza on Monday.
Last month, Haaretz revealed the operations of the Abu Shabab militia, which refers to itself as the "Anti-Terror Apparatus" and is active in eastern Rafah.
According to sources in Gaza, the group consists of around 100 armed young Palestinians who oversee the distribution of humanitarian aid to displacement camps and are reportedly operating with quiet support from the IDF.
