I stand by my comments on those that I mentioned.
There is no question of Ewen's ability or history, but with his other hats on, he allowed our company to be run by a guy who was all talk but wanted others to do the hard yards and brought in ludicrously overpaid C-Suite Execs that had no place in such a small operation. So, on that basis, I feel he let us down because we are not Westpac or BHP, where those structures are required.
As for Kathryn, she has a fantastic history and reputation, however, no company in Europe, the USA or Asia probably has any connection to her knowledge or skills, and so unless she was hands on in the lab, her only contribution would be in opening grant doors for us with State or Federal Government. If she was part of our success there, I applaud that.
We have always been an enabler company - not a final product company. Think Intel Inside. That is why we are successful now with SIOI; we have technology that makes other products better. The problem with that is that it takes time to prove to the senior management of these big companies that we will not fail them and we will either save or make them money; the only reasons they will ever change what they are currently doing. The technical people might love us, but you have to get to the person with the chequebook, that wants to increase his/her share options. Corporate sales is about building trust - I see Fabian as a vital cog in that in the battery space and Merrill should be an invaluable asset in that space as well.
