The result is, by my understanding, the Sun won't stop relative to us on Earth, which means that a stopping sun is an illusion.

and even a minor rapid reduction in the earths rotational speed would cause catastrophic disasters & destruction.
Yet I accept that something, though lacking credible scientific explanation did somehow occur..
