Being an investment forum, I thought how best to represent Russia's failure of a war as an "investment" in the hopes that some might understand how much of a loser Putin has put Russia on.
Here's my go.
Let's say that Russia's war in Ukraine represents a stock. And the pro-Russian regime supporters, a regime that abducts and murders children and has no less than 6 wanted war criminals, like to point at that stock and say "look, the stock price keeps rising!".
On the surface, it looks like a stock with a constantly rising stock price (albeit very very vry slowly and by very very very tiny percentages).
Wow, looks great, but it isn't.
What the pro-Russian propagandists don't like to point out in this example is it costs 10x more in brokerage than the value of stock purchased, you need to keep buying the stock every single day in order to keep that stock price climbing at its tiny tiny rate and in order to buy the stock and pay the massive brokerage you need to borrow money to do it.
Sounds like an amazing investment. A real "winner".
The difference to this investment lesson here and reality, the cost paid by Russians is their lives and their future all to accomplish nothing.
