you made the connection with the West Bank in your post and I focused on that. after winning and occupying the West Bank and East Jerusalem after the 1967 war they annexed East Jerusalem only in 1980 and Jordan only gave up their interests formally in 1988
you might like to consider the history of that area in the context of the un resolutions because quite frankly I think you could argue that Jordan’s annexation was illegal as well in light of the divsuon of territory but interesting how no one griped about that
as I said the West Bank and if you wish to include East Jerusalem is nowhere near the straightforward land grab you wish to imply. You are repeating a version that represents an Arab and later Arafat view of the world. In the end Arafat was regarded as a traitor by his own people because it seemed to have dawned on him somewhat that things had become mightily fd up
