For Shenghe, the present price situation for the various rare earth elements would not have been much of a consideration when negotiating (dictating to?) this scheme with PEK's BoD. After all, Shenghe is part of the empire that controls and manipulates supply and prices to great effect. They want long term control over PEK's world class RE asset, even letting it sit without further development for a while. They have the clout to appease an unhappy Tanz. government. Of course, they have used the low prices argument to have our BoD agree to the equally low offer of $0.359. And they and the BoD are using that same argument to convince shareholders of the scheme's merits. However, I suspect there will be further promotion of the scheme before the voting and with sufficient demonstrated dissatisfaction by shareholders perhaps even with a sweetener. This is one of the very rare occasions in the market when shareholders can exercise real power. And that should not be wasted.
