Just thought I might pick your brains about China - specifically how many tonnes we think the Chinese may be ordering from us 18 months from now? I have been digging around a bit and it seems to me that the company expects the average order quantity for a large of taker to be around the 2000 ton mark. What do we think this means for a company like Univar?
I watched an interview on “Making Money matter” on YouTube with Matthew Skinner where he suggested Buntine protein was worth $20,000 per tonne. It will be interesting to see what price they end up negotiating with the Chinese. The 50 tonnes they have agreed to purchase from us could be worth $1 million AUD, which would not be too shabby.
What do you think? How many tonnes is China worth to us and what will the price be per tonne?
