If you think that developing anything that will replace the incumbent is easy then you had better look at the criteria in developing.
There have been several companies that have sunk a huge amount of money in trying to develop the likes of ReRAM and have walked away from it.
If it was easy then we wouldn't be here as the market would be saturated with ReRAM.
