What do you have against oppressive and dictatorial regimes, potgut?
Just imagine if USA/Australia was a dictatorship.
- A few percent of the population could have majority of the nation's wealth. - You could help your rich friends get richer by cutting their taxes and bailing them out when they gamble and lose - You could virtually ignore the poor's needs for health and education - Your media would appear free, but would actually be controlled by one person and his family - Your could spy on peoples communications without any legal justification - You could abduct and torture foreigners in "secret" locations - You could have rigged elections. - You could cancel elections if the results don't suit you - You could lie about why you go to war and illegally invade countries - You could discriminate, cancel and jail people that hold a certain belief or opinion that doesn't fit into your agenda - You could fill your prisons with one particular racial group - You could use the media to scare the people into supporting policies that are against their interests
