I have no argument with what you state here (although your final assessment does ultimately remain a matter of speculation rather than fact until these events are realised).
Re Poynton - again you seem perhaps to be confusing what I have said with the statements of others. I have not made any specific criticism of Poynton whatsoever, but rather have asked Khopchai, who has made such criticism, to elaborate on the specific reasons for that. I suspect he is merely lashing out in anger and frustration, but have asked him to elaborate on any evidentiary basis for his assessment.
