What about the sentence before, "STORM40 will go through a final internal Critical Design Review in March." and the following sentence "In the meantime we are focusing on prospective customer proposals and demonstrations, which in
turn will drive the qualification process."

We're cash strapped and they are doing something that is going to focus on sales and you don't know what to say? How about "Glad to hear you are focusing your efforts without spending too much of the limited cash and looking for sales which may drive more expensive activities at a later time".
