I think you’re being a little narrow minded blaming recent SP weakness entirely on short sellers. With shorts at around 5% of shares on issue, it’s not a huge position which tells me there are other mitigating factors holding us back and even dragging us lower. Keep in mind we effectively have only one revenue producing product, another that has been knocked back by FDA, and several others that are not guaranteed to ever be approved. So yes at a $8.5B market cap we are vulnerable to a sell off. That is just the reality. If the shorts are wrong, they will need to cover which will create many more buyers that will push the SP higher than it otherwise would have been. Will you still be frustrated by the short sellers in that scenario? IMHO they actually play an important role in keeping our market efficient and more stable.
