I was just recently in China and they actually have huge amounts of land that is only semi utilised. Their cities are crowded and awful though. I think they do covet Taiwan and we were subjected to plenty of not so subtle commentary about how the Taiwanese were merely brothers
at present I don’t think they will move on other countries in a hurry. My thought watching all the pantomime was that they are far more likely to do it through soft power
