I suspect you may have misunderstood the fast food boom thing. Most in this industry are suffering, particularly in the US. Even McDonalds is struggling. As a result more US brands are looking to resolve their negative domestic growth issues by expanding into new territories and cutting somebody else's lunch.
Australia is one of the destinations for these companies with many US sh1t food operators are looking at take a piece of our pie. Thats very bad news for existing fast food operators in Australia because it means aggressive new competition as they try to buy their way in with marketing campaigns and attractive pricing. Australia is already flooded with fast food advertising and many franchisees are already working on thin margins. This is most certainly not going to help.
A stock can stage a quick rally in the current market if their numbers are sh1t but not as sh1t as people expected like CKF did. Thats not to say that the rally holds. Just remember the DMP rally to $34 a few months back?
I hope this thing turns around soon but some joker did mention the bottom again the other day so thats usually a bad sign.
