Regal Partners investment director Charlie Aitken told clients CBA was “the biggest single-stock bubble I’ve seen in 30 years of being at the coalface”.
“Anyone who buys CBA at the current valuation is destined to underperform the ASX200,” he said, despite Regal’s unsuccessful short bet on the bank this year. “CBA is wildly overvalued on any traditional measure of bank equity value. Overvaluation is like a snake that eats itself.”
