Well, well, well. The case is certainly not as streamlined as the Government would have hoped. I am convinced the Government initiated this extension. This is the first sign from the court that the Government's case is not air tight.
If I was David Breeze, I would not under any circumstances agree to ending the court case now. Instead, I would get the Government to submit everything, to have as much ammunition as possible. I would be furious with myself if I allowed myself to be lulled into the convenient consent order option now.
While we are at it... if consent orders are taken, and if I was David Breeze, I would under no circumstances touch the 2nd PEP-11 COVID NOPTA application until the first application has it's decision. The Government does not deserve any negotiation, they can get exactly what they are given.
