Why there was a violence between the Arabs and the Jews living in Palestine is the key to this mess. There was no violence until the immigration of the Jews to Palestine ramped up significantly. The Jews were not flooding to Palestine to live in harmony with the Arabs. They wanted their own state without Arabs in it. You can understand why the local inhabitants of the land did not take liking to that idea, right?
