1. China and USA did not "just agree a trade deal". They agreed to a framework for a deal, with the term "framework" doing an awful lot of heavy lifting there. The fact that no details have been disclosed yet tells you everything you need to know. You can park Trump's claim of a "China deal" right next his claim that immigrants are "EATING THE DOGS".
2. All US markets did not hit an all-time high overnight. The Dow Jones is still below its all time high which was reached in December 2024.
3. US lithium companies were a mixed bag overnight, with the majority in the red. Seems like US lithium stocks took a breather last night, and the US typically provides the lead to the ASX. Not always, but it's a pretty reliable indicator. With this in mind, I'd expect a fairly flat day for ASX lithium plays on Monday; however, I'll caveat that by saying that it's dependant on what the China spot price does on Monday afternoon.
Keep in mind that Trump's "deadline" for trade deals expires on the 9th of July (10th of July our time). There is not a single deal of substance in place yet, and he has threatened to reimpose steep tariffs on that date. No one know's what will happen at this stage, but it could very well be a repeat of "Liberation Day" in early April. In case you forgot, LTR hit 42 cents that day......
