Surely, you are not talking about Arab Revolt of 1916, initiated by the British and Lawrence of Arabia? Until the western involvement, the people of Palestine, and the Palestinian Arabs in particular lived relatively normal lives, because the politically loyalty of the majority Muslim population was to Constantinople, because the sultan was also caliph and the head of the Muslims. They were also treated as citizens and not the subjects of the Empire, and they felt that way because the Ottomans never settled in the region as a part of a colonization.
My reply was to your question bellow. They would have rather lived under the Ottomans than the Jews and the British. 100%.
"Would they have preferred to continue to live under British rule rather than under or next to a Jewish State?"
