Skol This is the thread you should be on just so you know : and for what it's worth , silver was around USD$11.50 in 2006 and went to around USD$30.00 in 2013 a very good return on investment anywhere on the way up. Dropped back as all markets do and has returned now 12 years later to around USD$36.00. Don't have to worry about tenants , repairs , CGT , etc. I also remember a very long time when house prices didn't move much and when interest rates on borrowing were well into double figures. Owning commodities gives a lot more flexibility because you can sell part of it to invest elsewhere if you wish. Each to their own and I've had both .
