I think that would be different to what we have here (drilling v gold production). The way I understand it is that with drilling you avoid any trees and animals etc so there's minimal impact but with gold production your gonna cut down some trees and displace any animals because you have to dig a pit etc which is greater impact and hence more government hoops to jump through. However I dont think there'll be any probs only because Carosue Dam sits a few km's to the west and thats an operating mine. Does anybody know if theres any tasmanian tigers at Mulgabbie or any eucalyptus trees full of koalas haha? Just from reading the old Carosue Dam application, the only issue would be any Malleefowl. I see that NST submitted a Mallefowl impact assessment in Sept 2021 when it wanted to expand its tailings dam. A report (link is here) and updated permit (link is here) were given about 6 months later in March 2022. So if NST got their permit I cant see why OZM shouldnt get its (unless theres a million Malleefowl at Mulgabbie haha!). AIMHO (DYOR).
