Thanks Dazza. An interesting graph. While the exponential increase in solar, wind and nuclear since (approx 2010) is impressive it has to be weighed against the doubling of China's Twh production. Coal is still king as it continues to meet approx 60% of energy production.

The stability of such production is also critical. I'll give China credit only to the extent that it is prepared to consider all forms of energy generation but it most certainly will not waste its co2 emissions free-kick from the ICCP.

If only our country had a modicum of vision particularly in the light of our paltry contribution to global co2 emissions and that is what this is all about. Isn't it? If not, we are making an even more monumental blunder.

Personally, I'm ok. I live in a temperate region. My house faces north, well insulated and I get my own modest amounts of firewood for winter. My electricity and gas bills are very modest so I won't be bribed by taxpayer funded handouts. I have a backup generator for those just in case moments. If that all fails, Thailand is Plan B but I love Oz deserts, mountains and clean oceans too much. GLTAH Keith
