We get this query all the time,..
It sounds high.,, agreed.

Unfortunately pay rates are not cheap in mining, or petrochem in Aus..

So , do you think we would get away with paying him an experienced tradie rate?





or perhaps a mining engineering rate..?




I know self employed mining consultants who don't have the expertise, or stress/hassles of management in the industry who earn more..

I've attempted to employ people in WA in a previous life,, unfortunately rates are high.
You can hardly get a tradie to turn up for a small project in Perth (METRO !) at the moment.

There are so many working AND MAKING GREAT MONEY 'on the mines'..

Just how it is, I'm afraid.

However I would like to see their first three months pay be given 'in shares' instead... Would that make a difference?.. I think so.
You'd also gets some commitment, and sort out if someone really thought the project was a goer before they took the job.
I don't know how practical that is, it probably isn't, , I've never employed a Mining CEO before,, but it sounds good !
