I hadn't heard of Booker, so followed your wiki link. He seems to buck against anything accepted by mainstream science. Just have a look at his opinion of passive smoking:

As you say, he has some wild ideas about evolution, asbestos (he said it was chemcically identical to talc!) and BSE (!). I would bet he also complained bitterly when he was forced use hairspray without CFCs...
