Just to help us get a perspective on just how bad our CO2 problem is, and how much difference we can make, here are recently published figures;
The top 6 polluters, plus Australia, produce 18,071 million tons of CO2.
If Australia totally shut down overnight, that figure drops to 17,634 million tons.
But that' silly so lets just go for a 5% drop.
That figure of 18 thousand million tons reduces by 22m tons.
But surely there is hypocrisy at work here too. We will still be exporting coal to countries that will burn it happliy, to make goods from our iron ore that they will export back to us.
The whole argument is almost embarrassing in its application.
