The idea of Hyenergy selling power isn't totally new. D. Frances had stated in early interviews that the company had the potential to sell Green power in addition to Hydrogen. However with where the Hydrogen is currently at it probably makes sense to solely focus on Green power generation for the time being and perhaps use any future excess power for hydrogen generation.
The huge issue the hydrogen industry is facing is the cost to produce and scale. Green electricity grids need to expand significantly to even think about producing hydrogen at a competitive cost. Perhaps this slight pivot alongside the governments 'Future made in Australia plan' can gain more traction than the hydrogen plans for now.
There is a hell of a lot that needs to happen for positive sentiment to return to this company. We need serious government agreements to assist this project to get off the ground, JV partners and significant amounts of funding. So there is a lot that needs to happen to even make this project look like it has any hope. The company has been very quiet and past news reports relating to the company and government appeared it had lost meaningful engagement. But perhaps this can be a turning point.
What PRL does have is significant local support in Carnarvon and the Gascoyne region. A decent sum of money which hopefully does not get burnt with minimal results. If this project can come to fruition under good management this could be huge. Let's hope the board ain't just playing with shareholders dreams and hopes and genuinely believe they can make this happen.
