I agree with microtrader. Its not possible for these applications to be run from the ASX servers. Bots simply emmulates what a user would do at much faster speeds. They could stop this by implementing some kind of reCaptcha page during the process. (Similar to how Ticketing companies try to stop bots buying up all the tickets to a popular show and putting them on eBay).

Clearly the ASX doesnt have a problem with people automating the purchase and selling of stock as its peoples own money to do with as they please. Also no doubt the more transactions that take place the more fee's the ASX can charge.
