Is the ECS-DOT chip simply a very good product???? or is it revolutionary??????

Is EMASS the HARDWARE or the SOFTWARE? looking deeper I think it is more the software.The hardware is all bog standard, they've designed it in a good way for very ULTRA low requirements, but its nothing special IMO.
Its very low power because they keep everything to a minimum and power down the CPU, but this is easily copied....
I think it is just a very good product...... but without a competitive moat, convince me I am wrong!
- CPU= RISC V = Open Source
- Operating System = Mbed =Open Source (EoL needs replacing with the CE by the way)
- SRAM = Off the Shelf
- RRAM = Off the Shelf
- Foundry= Open Access, e.g. TSMC, GF
- NVIDIA Deep Learning Accelerator = Open Source
- CPU sleep state = Software configuration
- advanced compression techniques = Proprietary??? or just Tunstall ?
