Green Mining Vision, page-2

Green mining refers to mining practices that prioritise environmental sustainability and minimise the negative impacts of resource extraction on the environment and local communities. It encompasses a range of strategies, including reducing energy and water consumption, minimising waste, utilising renewable energy sources, and implementing technologies that reduce pollution and land disturbance. The goal is to achieve a balance between resource extraction and environmental protection, ensuring long-term sustainability.

Though not specific to Osmond, the mining exploration industry increasingly adopt eco-friendly techniques, such as
1:Remote sensing and satellite mapping to reduce ground disturbance
2:Slim-hole and directed drilling to minimise surface impact
3:Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and risk planning ahead of field work.

Given that Osmond emphasises detailed geological mapping and targeted sampling across a 12 km zone, it's likely they are employing some of these low-impact approaches. Osmond’s latest annual report explicitly flags "compliance with environmental regulations and potential costs associated with remediation" as key risks. This suggests they are actively conscious of regulatory requirements and the need to manage environmental responsibilities from early on.
