Sorry, yes... conversion... caught up in what I was thinking as I was writing it.
Note though that the at the bottom of that page it seems to quite explicitly state that only the exercise price forms the cost base... otherwise you'd essentially get the new shares tax-free at their initial price... you'd never have paid any CGT on the gains you made with the options.
