Interesting idea. It remains to make it economically viable. Mercury-198 only accounts for 10% of natural mercury, and they propose to employ an enriched material of 90% mercury-198. I’m not an expert in isotope enrichments, but I have knowledge of the price and rareness of enriched isotopes in the scientific world and doubt that it will be cheap to enrich mercury-198 to those levels.
