So what would be the development plan if the Paulsens West drilling program strikes pay dirt, possibly at a depth of around 800 metres?
Plan one, cut a horizontal 600 metre access from Paulsens, including investigative drilling from within the new access, similar to a 'mole in a hole'? This would mean exiting the waste rock and gold ore out through the existing Paulsens which would cause all sorts of logistical problems?
However, this horizontal access would provide an easy route for work teams, and safety, if a vertical lift shaft was cut down to the ore body for removal of the gold ore?
Plan two, build an entirely new access to the ore body from the surface, while drilling continues from above to evaluate the edges of the ore body. This would be a long, time-consuming process, but solves any logistical problems.
Plan three, a combination of Plan one and two??
Does anyone have any thoughts?
