Trigg notches gains as samplework narrows hunt for antimony at Canyon

Trigg Metals (ASX:TMG) has notched modest gains on Thursday after company’s latest batch of sample work narrowed down the hunt for antimony deposits on-site at its Canyon project in the United States.

The company reports it’s detected “high-grade antimony zones” on-site using channel results recently collected that returned grades of up to 33% antimony in at least one sample; multiple others clocked in at over 10%.

For reader’s awareness, we’re effectively talking about surface samples here, which do not necessarily guarantee underground mineral systems; however, the market was at least somewhat bullish early on Thursday.

What is perhaps of most interest to Trigg Minerals, currently sitting on Canyon with an exploration target conceptual in nature, is that grades correlate – and exceed – those reported in historical documents Trigg had originally reviewed in the early days of assessing the Canyon project.

For all intents and purposes, it looks like (based on this evidence, at least) that those historical documents weren’t so far off being accurate after all.

“The mineralisation occurs within a laterally extensive footprint measuring approximately 3.5 km by 1.5 km, hosted in multiple, vertically stacked horizons, indicating significant tonnage potential,” Trigg wrote on Thursday.

And at the crest of all this early-stage evidence is, in the eyes of Trigg MD Andre Booyzen, confirmation that the Canyon project offers plenty of modern opportunity, with historical operations on-site far from exhausting anything.

“These results indicate that Antimony Canyon may be one of the most exciting emerging antimony exploration projects in the United States,” Booyzen said.
