The australian says: Powerful tsunami hits Japan after massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake.
8.8 is massive. Lots of places particularly Pacific islands would be on tsunami alert. Time to get to high ground in those places. Too many disasters around the world building. The earths crust is under pressure. Is it globalwarming and temperature extremes all over the globe.
I do worry because we are no match for nature and it seems it could happen anywhere. I had heard there was an earthquake in China early this morning also but the Japan one is more recent and massive. Luckily the Japanese are more adapted for earthquakes than most places but there is nothing that foolproof against an 8.8 magnitude earthquake. It was reported that a large ship swept away by the tsunami rammed directly into a breakwater in Kesennuma city in Miyagi prefecture, according to footage on public broadcaster NHK.
Media reported a 10 metre tsunami had struck the port at Sendai city, while there were reports Tokyo Disneyland's car park was swamped by the tsunami.
Terrible, I just hope they come out of this without loss of life.
