I spoke to Kos on Friday to inquire about the status of a few things.
I wanted to leave this HC forum on a constructive note so I thought I'd go straight to the horses mouth.
Quite obviously he could not tell me anything material that wasnt already out in the market but he did add some tone and definition to a number of current topics and issues.
The management could still pull off a massive deal and their sales and marketing activity shows they are working overtime to do this. I think they are genuinely trying their best to perform. I dont question their efforts, I question the strategy that is guiding their efforts. IMHO, success on this front is a do or die proposition for them and like all living beings, they are doing everything they can to survive.
The Tincom deal, whilst frustratingly slow, is still developing. This deal is now firmly in the hands of others. Not a good position for any company to be in but not a lot they can do either, according to Kos.
There appears to be a lot of continued interest in Matmor.
They are excited about the prospects of large scale test burns so they can sell coal to power stations (and more offtake agreements are only going to add to ther bakability of any Coldry project). I still see massive problems with getting it to port and into the export markets. More of a time problem than anything else and time is the enemy of any company commercialising technologies.
Time is also very expensive for ESI as it means more expensive convertible notes that (at these prices) are highly dillutive. They dont currently have much choice at the moment in relation to funding but he assured me that they were working on developing alternives to LJC.
As a business model, there appears to be a lot more out of their control than in their control that is material and defining for the company. Notwithstanding, the management is enthusiastic and confident that they can deliver.
History will take care of the rest.
Good luck all. Maybe my research firm will one day cover them when they are turning massive profits and are seeking M&A of other disruptive technologies. Lets hope so.
