I can't see know 2 possible meltdowns & associated radioactive clouds drifting across Asia with "mass contamination & loss of life" (your words) now & years into the future & causing birth defects & miscarriages is the best answer to cutting greenhouse emissions, especially since all the "clean energy" credits from nuclear has just been wiped out in one day. & don't forget there are many more power plants built on fault lines around the world that in a few yrs time will be old techknowledgy.
