agree hotcop..apart from killing machines the US has pretty much sold all of it's innovation and manufacturing capacity to Asia...And considering the way the planet is shifting right now..not sure we need to worry about creating things to destroy ourselves..The planet can do that just fine by itself..I beleive the US has run it's course and the reigns are now being taken over..like you say..we'll see..in our lifetime i think!
