The prospect of increased demand from the rebuilding effort in Japan resource stocks were boosted. In US trade, Rio Tinto rallied 1.5%, BHP 1.4% and Alumina 3.6%.
Copper in London, ended the session higher adding 0.75%.

Who would have thought that such an horrific event would hit an area of high population & industry.
