This just shows that AJL has hidden pockets of value. It is unfortunate that the finance structure and strategy got them stuck, hence they have to cash in on some of the family silver. The explanation makes sense, it does fit a strategic direction; however, they do sell a direct profit maker.
The money is helpfull to pay the taxman. This is currently by far the biggest liability. In profit terms this has been taken into account; but in the end you have to have real cash to pay!
I hope they now have sufficient cash to kick off exploration in the US. It may be possible that some more assets will be cashed into.
