Some members of the USA Govt have already announced that the will stand behind Nuclear Energy.

1) This is Japan an antiquated and autocratic country more ineterestd in saving face than the safety of its people ... (dont flame me) ...and 2) the reactors were 40 years old .. or at least 1 of them was.

The panic selling is typical market - ie: Korea sets off a rocket, all is woe and panic selling and the next day its back to normal as though the rocket never existed.

This will pass and result in stricter and better safety standards for nucelar plants and maybe some common sense for back-up power supply and where to actually build the things ie: dont build them on faultlines (?) gees.
