A very limp-wristed performance by Carlton - I've heard him ask more probing questions of an 80 year old grandmother charged with neg driving of a shopping trolley.
One major point of contradiction did arise from the program. The general theme from the Muslims in the audience was that Australians had nothing to fear from Muslims in Australia. However, when the fact was raised that a meeting of the extremist Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir, was held in the same hall a week earlier, attracting an audience of 400, the reply was - "Don't take any notice of them, they are a bunch of ratbags & if you focus on them they will only go underground & you won't be able to keep an eye on them." (or words to that effect)
Pardon me? Would you mind repeating that? - I thought you have all been saying that we having nothing to fear? (well that is what Carlton should have said)
