JAT lost Neurio trademark claim in China

  1. 3 Posts.

On 9 October 2024, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) rejected the opposition filed by Jatcorp Limited (JAT)’s subsidiary, Sunnya Pty Ltd, against the Neurio trademark owned by the Chinese companyGuangzhou Aotea Biological Technology PTE Ltd. CNIPA officially determined that the Chinese company Aotea holds the full ownership of the Neurio trademark in China.

Since then, JAT has consecutively lost several legal and administrative proceedings in China’s courts and before CNIPA concerning the Neurio trademark. This outcome means that JAT will no longer be permitted to sell Neurio products in China, which has had a significant negative impact on JAT’s sales.

Despite the importance of this development, JAT failed to disclose the information in a timely manner to its shareholders and investors. Shareholders and investors therefore have the right to hold JAT’s Board of Directors accountable.
